About Laura
Rode NT1 / Steinberg UR12 Interface / Adobe Audition (P&R)
In addition to recording audio-books, I work for Connecticut Radio Information Systems (CRIS Radio) producing short form narration. Our CRISKids program is my passion project for students who struggle to read. I launch audio-book clubs for children K-3 throughout the state. Recently, I created a Braille audio-book club for the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind. The children sharpen their Braille reading skills while listening! I also narrate the lessons for CRIS Radio’s collaboration with the Hartford Courant’s News in Education program.
Outside the studio, I enjoy yoga, biking, kayaking and hiking. I also volunteer with a variety of organizations.
I live in New England with my husband, two adorable dogs, two clingy cats, and a 30-year-old parrot named Dean Koontzie, who is somewhat skilled at voice-work himself
