The narrator made me laugh and gasp. I felt the same mother/daughter/sister/boyfriend emotions. Love the different text of dialogue she gave each character. Can’t wait till the next narration!

Laura English is an enormously talented audio book narrator. After listening to a few sample clips of one novel, I immediately sent her a second and encouraged her to consider taking it on. Her ability to grasp the plight of each character and to develop a unique voice and personality has set a high bar. As she breathed life into the cast, I found myself falling in love with the story again. But she's truly a strong partner from the very beginning, asking critical questions and suggesting initial ideas for her approach. Polished, professional, and pragmatic. She knows exactly which characters to bring to the forefront and which ones to let linger until the suspense of the plot is ready to explode. No doubts in my mind... I 'm hoping she'll take on many more of my books.

About Laura

Rode NT1 / Steinberg UR12 Interface / Adobe Audition (P&R)

Graduate of Sean Pratt Non-Fiction course and Joel Leslie Froomkin’s Acting For Audio courses.

In addition to recording audiobooks, I work for Connecticut Radio Information Systems (CRIS Radio) producing short form narration. CRISKids is my passion project for students who struggle to read. I launch audiobook clubs for children K-3 throughout the state. Recently, I created a Braille audiobook club for the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind. The children sharpen their Braille reading skills while listening! I also narrate the lessons for CRIS Radio’s collaboration with the Hartford Courant’s News in Education program.

Outside the studio, I enjoy being biking, kayaking or hiking. I also volunteer with a variety of organizations.

My husband and I have two children, three dogs, two cats, and a 27-year-old parrot named Dean Koontz, who is somewhat skilled at voice-work himself
